On the Issues

Now more than ever small businesses are hurting. I know this personally, because I am a small business owner. Small businesses are the backbone of our country and millions of families depend on them. Government can help these businesses by getting out of the way and rolling back restrictions placed on them.

My record on the second amendment is clear. I believe the founders were not only clear in the phrase “shall not be infringed upon,” but they also got it right.

The life of the unborn is sacred and I’ll continue to do everything in my power to protect them. I am 100% pro-life and have the voting record to prove it (SOURCE: Louisiana Right to Life Scorecard). I’m proud to say there are currently no abortion clinics operating in Congressional District 5 and I’ll do what I can to make sure it stays that way.

The growing threat of socialism throughout our country is real and it’s scary. We can no longer take the stance that it is just a phase that will eventually go away. As conservatives we must do our part in fighting socialistic policies whenever we can, and we must educate those on why socialism will always fail. My beliefs are clear – less government is better government.

Farming is a major industry in our district, and we must do everything we can do to ensure this industry is protected and supported. I supported President Trump's Farm Bill, and as Congressman, I will work tirelessly to create and support similar legislation that keeps this vital industry going.

Our Veterans fought for the freedoms we enjoy today, and they risked EVERYTHING for you and me. When Congress is passing laws, we must be sure we are fighting for veterans just as hard as they fought for us.
